1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 large eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
Zest of 2 oranges
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Glaze:

2-3 tablespoons freshly squeezed orange juice
Zest of 1 orange
1 cup powdered sugar


Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by greasing and flouring it or lining it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, beat the eggs until they become frothy. Gradually add the vegetable oil while continuing to beat.
Mix in the orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract into the egg mixture.
